Suffer Little Children by Pastor Dave

“Then the little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven’ And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.”

Matthew 19:13-15

Last week Community Bible Church held its annual Vacation Bible Church and we had a great time. It takes a lot of time and help to make Vacation Bible School work, but I am sure those who helped accomplish the program were blessed. I am always grateful for those from our church who help, but there were also helpers from five other churches and another church helped financially.

The Children came. They sang songs, played games, did crafts, listened to mission and Bible stories, and generally had a good time. The young people were great! They came with good attitudes, participated with a good spirit, enjoyed the snacks, and generally were a blessing.

People have asked why we have Vacation Bible School, an AWANA Club, a Christian School, and the Fall Fun Night. The answer is simple: “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come unto Me.” So, they come, and we tell them about Jesus. In doing so, maybe we get a taste of what Heaven will be like!

By the way, have you ever investigated the evidence concerning who Jesus is? You should!

In Christ,

A Marvelous Ordinary Life!

Author unknown, shared by Gregg Bradin

Do not ask your children to strive for extraordinary lives.
Such striving may seem admirable, but it is the way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder,
and the marvel of an ordinary life!
Show them the Joy of tasting, tomatoes, apple and pears.
Show them how to cry when pets and people die.
show them the infinite pleasure in the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself!

Golden Fifty years gone by…..

God bless the couple who honors their marriage, long after the wedding is past;
Because in this world where so many don’t make it, it takes something special to last.
It take commitment, a whole lot of laughter, the words, “I love you” and more.
It needs some “I’m sorry,“ some warm tender touching and care for the one you adore.
God bless the couple who hangs in there, trying when it seems like the world is bailing out.
For this special couple believes in a promise and knows what true love is about.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
New International Version (NIV)

4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
