July Joys!!

July began with flag raising on the Fourth of July! What a wonderful time to celebrate Independence Day with some of our Klamath Neighbors we hadn’t met earlier! The Hoover family in Fort Goff had a fun gathering of family and friends for raising the Flag!! See photo on Community page. Did you see the pictures of Ruth Bain’s retirement there also?
This is the time for wonderful outdoor family fun, so take a ride down the beautiful Klamath River highway on either of the two Scenic Byways. Happy Camp is the junction of State of Jefferson Scenic Byway and the Bigfoot Byway, where the “wildlife watches you!!”
Take your camera with you for fun and you are bound to see something of beaury to catch a picture!!
Hundreds of visitors come to Happy Camp at this time of year for Rafting on the Klamath River. You won’t want to miss a dip in one of our creeks or a chance to travel down the Klamath by raft!!
Perhaps, like many who come here, you’d like to prospect. The New 49ers can educate you on the joys of recreational gold mining. They now have videos on the Internet!
It’s not too long before the concert Rockkin’ the Klamath will be here on August 4th. It begins at noon with the HAPPY CAMP HAS TALENT portion of the entertainment. You who have talent will want to go to the Chabmer office for an application as soon as you can. Then get busy practiving your number for this wonderful opportunkity and you miight win the cash prize!
Later on will be the Ponderosa Breeze and then the highlight band, Key of Three will finish of fthe evening.

The Coordinating Council that puts on the Bigfoot jamboree will run the beer booth. the Chamber of Commerce will have the food booth. There is opporunity to sign up and be a vendor too!
