Due to moving, and health issues, Lisa and Becky resigned in January and people stepped up to fill the positions temporarily to keep the organization running. thanks to those who did so, Randy White and Bruce Harlow especially!

Bigfoot Jamboree was a lot of fun in Happy Camp!! The busy weekend began Friday afternoon with a Softball Tournament that continued to Sunday. Traditional Salmon Dinner was great Friday at the River Park. Happy Campers gathered for the Bigfoot Queen Coronation of Royale Pinassi by Bailei Allec, last year’s queen! The Princesses were Meranda Rasmussen, Maddy Offield and Matilda Peters. After Queen Royale and her escort began the Queen’s Dance, raffle tickets were drawn. The first prize was $200 cash, for which the winner offered a round of ice cream to everyone! Next prize was $100 to Becky Evans. A chainsaw was won by Frank Snyder. Then dozens of other prizes and gift certificates were won and the winners of those didn’t have to be present, like the first three. Music for the evening was “Music by Chalis”

The grassy park lawns were occupied by jewelry and handcraft vendors, Forest Service Information booths, and food booths. Tim Pinkos a leather artist helped out my husband with a couple holes in his belt and had such beautiful work. Happy Camp Ambulance had a Dime Toss Game for Gold, and there was the Poker Booth by State of Jefferson Brotherhood as well. Food booths offered varieties of Indian Fry bread, pizza, pretzels, corn-dogs, nachos, Indian Tacos, cinnamon rolls, turnovers and blackberry pies, Yummy!! Wish we had Dolly Elston’s fried zucchini recipe as everyone loved it!!

Besides the vendors who continued Saturday and Sunday, there were many other activities going on: the Ballet Recital by the darling little ballerinas, The Cupcake War, Horseshoe Tournament and “The Roadsters’ live band on Saturday. From 11 to 5 it was Kids Day at the Park with Water Slide, Obstacle Course and lots of cool stuff for the youngsters! The Karaoke Contest began Saturday and continued with finals for the $200 prize Sunday.

Early Sunday morning there was a Pancake Breakfast at the Happy Camp Elementary School by the High School Class and assisted by Dan Effman. It was a delicious breakfast with eggs done just the way you request, orange juice, sausage and pancakes. It ended in time for everyone to get ready for the Parade, but first we went to see the 5K Bigfoot Run Completion.
