Stan & Virginia Celebrate!

June is a time for anniversaries for many people. The Bible Church in Happy Camp will be celebrating two special anniversaries in June.

The Pastor, Stan Poeschel, and his wife Virginia will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!! This photo of Stan and Virginia was taken at the graduation of the Happy Camp High School class of 2011 where their grandson, David Poeschel graduated.

June also marks the time of year when Pastor Stan Poeschel came to be the Pastor of Happy Camp Bible Church. That was nearly thirty years ago and Stan and Virginia have raised their four sons in Happy Camp and still serve here at the Happy Camp Bible Church.

Happy Camp is celebrating a literary celebrity of our community. The book “Dear Mad’m” by Stella Patterson has brought many visitors to our community and encouraged many “senior citizens” to lead an adventurous life despite advancing years.

The Happy Camp Chamber of Commerce is planning the luncheon picnic to honor Stella Patterson and those still maintain the spirit she exemplifies today! The Luncheon will be held in the shade of the sycamore trees on the lawn of the Klamath River Resort Inn on the Klamath River, 2 miles east of Happy Camp.

Dear Mad’m Day will be Saturday, August 13th and the picnic luncheon for  $5 donation will be at 11:00 o”clock.  Sandwiches, ribs, jewel and fruit salads and specialty breads are planned, as well as Dolly’s Strawberry Lemonade and dessert.

We are so pleased that guests who have known Dear Mad’m from their time on the River, Peter and Liz who are writing a book to be published by Naturegraph on her life, and Hazel Davis Gendron who used her artistic talents for a drawing of Dear Mad’m and numerous other “Friends of “Stella” from near and far will be coming to the picnic luncheon.

Had a Great Time, Rockin the Klamath!

Rockin’ the Klamath was Saturday July 16 Noon to Midnight at the River Park in Happy Camp!

Come for the Talent Show and Show your talent! Didn’t know there were so many people in Happy Camp who compose original songs!! Cassidy Rae Little local winner of “Happy Camp’s Got Talent” does, and Joelle Edwards does and another contestant, Paul LeFleur composes hard rock songs!

MUSIC by Second Sons – They were great and their singer Joelle Edwards sang for us at the Talent show too,. She and Cassie Rae Little tied for first place. they were both so good that our Master of Ceremonies, Bob (JavaBob) Schmalzbach couldn’t tell who was the winner by applause. The Pavilion really was Rockin!

More Music and dancing with the SPIRAL KINGS~Played from eight to midnight and got so many people out there enjoying the dancing and they didn’t seem to want it to end. Next year Rockin’ the Klamath will be better than ever!

Happy Camp Coordinating Council

The Happy Camp  Coordinating Council for the Annual Bigfoot Jamboree is busy planning a  better than ever event! Linda Zink is the President, Sammi Offield (not shown) is the Vice President.

Linda and Sammi recently visited the Happy Camp Chamber of Commerce meeting to discuss Coordinating Council booth at the Rockin’ the Klamath Concert on July 16th. The Chamber is going to have a booth at Bigfoot Jamboree as years ago, COUNTRY STORE!  Space 21 has been reserved for the COUNTRY STORE.

Time to get your plans going for the Parade at 11 on Sunday afternoon (September 4th). The theme will be WONDERLAND! We have an Outdoor Wonderland here on the Klamath River, so let’s celebrate it!

Beautiful Day for Rafting on the Klamath

It’s a beautiful day for rafting down the wild Klamath River!

Independence Day is just around the corner!

In the meantime, don’t forget Klamath Veterans Meeting at the Family Resource Center, Wednesday for coffee at 10 AM.

Happy Seniors meet at the Log Memorial High School on East and 4th Avenue on Friday at 3 PM.

The Klamath Siskiyou Art Gallery is proceeding with plans to start building. See www.ksartcenter.org/klamath-siskiyou_art_center.html.

The Happy Camp Chamber of Commerce meeting is Tuesday, July 5th for an update on the great Arts & Treasure Weekend last week and sharing the exciting news of the Rockin’ the Klamath Concert and Happy Camp Has Talent July 16th! Great summer fun is coming!
